Wonderful post, Anna. Charlie Kirk was inspiring ad I always loved the ay he listened to all voices but stuck to his Gunns and agreeably agreed to disagree and we need to get that back.
Thank you for your kind words, Denise. I'm glad you enjoyed the post. You're always so encouraging. You're right, he had a real gift for respecting the people he was debating and we could do with a lot more of that right now. Take care 🙂
Thanks, Anna, for these beautiful reflections on a beautiful life and legacy. The contrast is growing sharper between those who value truth and those who don't. But the truth shall always overcome.
Thank you for your kind words and comment. Charlie Kirk's life certainly was a beautiful one.
I absolutely agree with you that the principle dividing line in our world now seems to be between truth and untruths. It has been dawning on me for a while but I had a deep sense of that just this morning.
Those of us who believe in truth must keep standing up for it amidst the loud voices that keep trying to drown it out.
Yes indeed, Anna. We might say that the very essence of evil, and the destruction it brings, is the denial and subversion of truth. "Did God really say...?" But the light always overcomes the darkness. Keep up the good work! I am very glad of your encouragement.
Lovely post, Anna. I share your respect for Charlie Kirk’s work of visiting universities, and I share your horror at his assassination. However, I think we should acknowledge that Charlie became famous for his political activity as much as for his religious outreach. Charlie was one of the leaders of Trump’s campaign, and I am sure you would agree that Trump is hardly the most Christian of recent presidents.
I celebrate your desire to duplicate Charlie’s evangelism in the UK, but I think it would be a great disaster to duplicate Trump’s malevolence here.
Thank you for your comment. The UK and US share some similarities but also have differences and I don't think the political style of things would replicate exactly here.
I don't know enough about Trump and his administration. He's clearly a controversial figure. He's done some questionable things and sometimes what he's doing doesn't seem to make sense. Some of the things he's doing appear to be good. If you look at the kings and leaders in the Old Testament they were often imperfect people but God still used them. From what I understand, he is a Christian now even if he may not have been in the past. I don't know much about American politics but from what I've seen and read I would rather he was in power than the Democrats if that's the only choice available. It looks like we agree to disagree.
Most Christians in America do not believe that Trump is a Christian. Trump may say he is, but Trump says a lot of things.
I understand why so many people voted against the Democrats. They have lost their way on cultural issues in recent years. But Trump is a threat to democracy. Nearly half of the members of his first administration said he should never have been president because of his disrespect for the law, and many said that he was a fascist.
I hope we able to avoid some of the more woke policies that the Democrats supported, but I also hope we don't elect someone with such disrespect for basic morality and the rule of law.
I’m in the UK so I can’t really comment on the details, but I was curious and looked it up - polls seem quite mixed. Some Christian groups in the US (especially evangelicals) strongly support Trump, while others don’t see him as particularly Christian. So it really depends who you ask. Interesting to see how differently people view the same person.
Yeah, I’m in the UK, too, but I lived in the USA for 25 years. I made plans to leave the day after Trump was elected.
He is mostly supported by evangelical Christians who are way over to the right side of the Republican party. I sometimes think that most evangelicals are more political than Christian.

Thanks for sharing - a powerful, neutral, well researched article.
He was a great speaker and a wonderful influence to the world.
His death inspired many, and also revealed the sinister nature of antifa and other anti-life radical organizations.
Thank you for your kind words, Daniel. I agree with what you say here.

Charlie Kirk? The man who claimed that abortion was worse than the holocaust? Hell no!
